At the risk of stating the obvious, the whole point of stand-up meetings or ‘daily stand-ups’ is to actually stand up — which encourages keeping it brief and to-the-point. With that in mind, this template has been put together to keep things simple with four categories: focus for the week, what got done yesterday, what’s happening today, and any blockers.
This template fits perfectly with your morning routine. While you’re having your morning coffee, you can add your to-do list in the ‘today: what am I working on?’ section, and start your workday from there. Noting down blockers will also give you a nice way to attack the day, now that you can see where the challenges are.
Pro tip: the good thing about using a template like this, is being able to refer back to previous stand-ups to see what you’ve been working on and what the focus is for the week. Using the highlighter tool to emphasise a key point you want to make during the meeting will make sure you don’t forget it.
